Saturday August 24, 2013. P.#E1, E6 Update:
OTTAWA — Three more men have been charged in connection with the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl that began at Blair Station on Aug. 11.
Warsama Youssouf, Maher Fafayi and Christian Kadima, all 19, are jointly charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, forcible confinement and intimidation. The trio turned themselves in to police on Thursday.
All three appeared in court Friday and a joint bail hearing was set for Aug. 29. None have criminal records.
A fourth suspect, 19-year-old Hanten Hersi, appeared in court Thursday to face the same set of charges. Hersi was also charged with breaching his bail conditions. He had been out of custody awaiting a trial for his alleged role in a gunpoint robbery last September.
Police believe four men approached a girl at the east end transit station around 5 a.m. on Aug. 11 and offered her money for sex. After she refused, police said she was led to a secluded spot near James Naismith Drive and sexually assaulted.
A security guard called police when he heard screaming.
In the days following the alleged sex assault, OC Transpo refused to answer questions about security at Blair Station, including if any footage of suspects was captured by security cameras.
Police arrested Hersi on Wednesday and then released images, which appear to have been captured at Blair Station, asking the public for help identifying the four men pictured.
